Full UT2004 support!

[29 March 2023] UT2004 support restored!

After a 30 day test period, we are proud to announce our UT2004 masterserver:

ut2004master.333networks.com

Our UT2004 masterserver provides the following features:

Unreal Tournament 2004, by default, only utilises one of the provided masterserver entries in your configuration settings. Thanks to our masterserver synchronisation, you always receive the full serverlist, no matter which one of our supported masterservers you use. We currently have two UT2004 masterservers online:

ut2004master.333networks.com
ut2004master.errorist.eu

We hope you will soon update your server or game client to 333networks. Should you have any questions, suggestions or interest in the project, don't hesitate to drop by on our discord. Happy Fragging!

Epic to discontinue support for online services

[14 December 2022] Epic dropping support

This week, Epic Games announced the following:

Starting today, we will begin turning off out-of-date online services and servers for many older games in the Epic family as we move to solely support Epic Online Services with its unified friends system, voice chat features, parental controls, and parental verification features. Most titles will be playable offline, while some will no longer be playable. We apologize to the players affected by these changes.

As described in the linked ut99.org post, this has the following implications:

Unreal/UT99 players who have been using the 333networks (and affiliated) masterservers will not experience any changes. We welcome all new users who wish to migrate with the instructions here. If you have any further questions about what games 333networks supports, please see our frequently asked questions.

Our UBrowser is accessible again!

[17 Oct 2021] UBrowser is back!

The UBrowser is back! The UBrowser is the ingame multiplayer gameserver browser in Unreal Engine (Epic Games) and is applied in Unreal Tournament, Unreal, Rune, Postal 2 and other games. In 2014, Darkelarious wrote a light-weight web version of this ubrowser as a tribute to (at that time) ten years of Unreal Tournament 99. In 2016, a Postal 2 (Running With Scissors) interface was added at their anniversary.

The interface is written in (Perl-generated) HTML, CSS and Javascript/jquery, and uses the 333networks Json API. Relevant information about the Json API is found at 333networks.com/json. Live examples of the UBrowser interfaces:

Recent changes

[3 Oct 2021] Effect of recent changes (or "my bot/game broke!")

Since you can read these announcements, it means you arrived at our new website. Apart from a few discontinued subs, what else has changed?

The improved website now clearly separates general documentation and information from our masterserver data. On 333networks.com you will now find instructions on game support, how the masterserver works or what data we collect and process, whereas master.333networks.com solely provides detailed server lists and individual server status information. We moved our Json API there too.

Those who had to change their HOSTS file in order to get their favourite game to work with 333networks may be required to update the HOSTS file entry with the new IP. You can find a list of addresses/IPs on the masterserver page. The old IP will continue to work for a while longer, but will be discontinued eventually.

Users of our Json API may have noticed that some bots suddenly stopped working. In the last month we tried to reach out to API users, but we have not been able to reach everyone. The best way to solve the issue as a result of our recent changes is to change the API url from http://333networks.com to https://master.333networks.com. That should be all!

We hope the transition has been smooth for everyone and that we may all experience happiness with our legacy games for years to come!

Discontinued subdomains

[3 Oct 2021] Subdomains discontinued in favour of new site.

As we are deploying the new website and masterserver for 333networks, we are rounding up some old projects. An overview:

git.333networks.com, is now replaced with an interactive code hub on code.333networks.com.

ubrowser.333networks.com, our mockup UBrowsers for Unreal Tournament 1999 and Postal 2 rely on the old Perl masterserver. As we transitioned to a Qt5 masterserver, this project is no longer maintained and active. The alternative JSon version can still be used through our JSon API.

kfstats, the UT2004 Killing Floor server statistics have not been maintained for a while. There is no point to continue hosting old stats. Instead, we have plans for a brand new subdomain with statistics, map packs, music packs and relevant updates. We are still playing every Saturday and look forward to having you with us!

We enjoyed working on these projects, but take pride in the progress we made since. We hope you will miss them and look forward to our new site and interface.

New environment

[1 Sep 2021] The new 333networks master is now live!

In the last two years Darkelarious has silently been working on improving ... everything. We wrote a new masterserver in Qt5 and published it on our new Gitea platform to view and contribute to our work. We are hosting from our server Rhea, with a 200MBit up/down glassfibre connection.

The improved website now clearly separates general documentation and information from our masterserver data. On 333networks.com you will now find instructions on game support, how the masterserver works or what data we collect and process, whereas master.333networks.com solely provides detailed server lists and individual server status information.

We hope the transition will go/has been smooth for everyone and that we may all experience happiness with our legacy games for years to come!
